Venovo™ Venous Stent System
The Venovo™ Venous Stent System is BD's dedicated venous stent for the treatment of iliofemoral venous obstruction. BD's design summary centres on balance: the stent is engineered to provide what BD describes as the optimal balance between radial force, flexibility and compression resistance — the competing demands that make venous stenting different from arterial stenting, where the vessel is subject to external compression and movement rather than only to elastic recoil. Structurally, BD describes an open-cell, flexible design intended to conform to vessel curvature while maintaining lumen diameter, tantalum markers for enhanced fluoroscopic visibility, and minimal foreshortening for maximum lesion coverage. Flared ends are a distinguishing feature that BD says help prevent stent migration. The stent is placed with a triaxial delivery system that BD describes as designed for ease of use, deployment control and precise placement. BD reports long-term data behind the platform, citing 36-month results from the VERNACULAR study and, in that study, no stent fractures at 36 months. BD also states that it offers the broadest size matrix of iliofemoral-indicated venous stents in the U.S., including diameters up to 20 mm. Sizing and availability differ by market, so configuration should be confirmed before planning a case. Azmed Devices provides documentation, tender support and supply coordination for BD peripheral intervention products in Azerbaijan.
