Robotic Surgery Center Announced for Yeni Klinika

TABIB has announced that a robotic surgery center is being established at the New Clinic in Baku, aiming to let Azerbaijani patients undergo robot-assisted operations without travelling abroad.

On November 20, 2025, the executive director of TABIB — the state agency managing Azerbaijan's territorial medical units — announced at a press briefing that a robotic surgery center is being established at Yeni Klinika (New Clinic) in Baku, with work planned for completion by the end of the year.

According to the announcement, once the center is launched, citizens requiring robot-assisted surgery will no longer need to travel abroad for such procedures. Robotic surgery platforms are among the most advanced — and most infrastructure-intensive — technologies a hospital can adopt, requiring dedicated operating theatres, specialized instrumentation and sustained surgeon training programs.

The announcement signals continued state investment in bringing top-tier surgical technology into Azerbaijan's public hospital system. As with any advanced platform, long-term success depends on the surrounding ecosystem: instrument and consumable supply, biomedical engineering support and structured clinical education — the same fundamentals that apply across the country's growing interventional and surgical programs.
