Cordis Launches Global Coronary Registry for SELUTION SLR Drug-Eluting Balloon

Cordis has initiated the SELUTION Global Coronary Registry, a prospective study designed to track real-world outcomes for up to 10,000 patients treated with the SELUTION SLR Drug-Eluting Balloon.

According to Cordis, the company has officially launched the SELUTION Global Coronary Registry, marking a significant step in monitoring the real-world performance of their drug-eluting balloon technology. This prospective study is set to enroll as many as 10,000 patients globally, making it one of the largest registries of its kind for coronary drug-eluting balloons to date. Cordis intends to utilize this data to track patient outcomes for a duration of up to five years, effectively complementing findings from their five ongoing Level-1 randomized trials.

The registry aims to enhance clinical understanding of how SELUTION SLR technology can be utilized to improve patient outcomes in coronary interventions. According to Cordis, the initiative is supported by a steering committee composed of internationally recognized interventional cardiologists who bring extensive expertise to the project. This effort is described by Cordis as a reaffirmation of their long-standing commitment to building strong clinical evidence and advancing the standard of patient-centered cardiovascular care.

Cordis reports that the SELUTION SLR Drug-Eluting Balloon is currently available in more than 40 countries and represents a next-generation approach to coronary treatment. By delivering sustained Sirolimus release without requiring a permanent implant, the device is designed to provide physicians with flexibility for future treatment options. According to Cordis, the company plans to share the initial results from this registry in the coming autumn, further substantiating the device's role in the interventional cardiovascular space.
